    Cody the Giant

Not only do we love big kitties, we love big dogs too! This is the 3rd big dog we've as sadly they have a short lifespan.

Cody with my Mum at 7 months old.

He still has a lot of growing to do! He's 3/4 Great Dane 1/4 Rhodesian Ridgeback. He just looks like a Dane with a ridge though.

This is our first Dane, Blue. He died of Dilated Chardiomyopathy at 4 years old. Such a sudden and devistating disease. Sometimes you get a 'pet' who, for some reason, becomes a soulmate, a friend and a baby. Blue was mine. He was a HUGE dog even for a Dane and was amazing in every way.

This is Bailey. Our second Dane. A total Clown, could never get a posing picture of him. lol! He was quite Dainty for a Dane but so much fun! He suffered a huge seizure at aged 2 and had to be put to sleep after irrepairable damage was done.

Love all your big babies! I was never a dog person, but my heart changed after I got Gypsy. I realized that the large dogs are soo different from the high strung little yappers. If I ever got anotther dog, it would be a large one. But right now, MC have stolen my heart.

They are amazing dogs, although known as the heartbreakers as their lives are rather short unfortunately but once you have been blessed with a Dane in your life you can't go back. They really do get into your heart and make you love them so much. The only other animal that I have loved like a Dane is my Coonie actually!

Thank you. Blue was a total head turner even for a Dane. His size and his loving personality always got people coming over, all of our Danes have always had a love for kids too, they go all floppy and soft when a kid approaches. lol I could never have another breed now TBH. I think I will always have Danes and Coonies.
Danes keep growing until they're 2 years old so it's looking like Cody will outgrow even Blue. Good in a way but worrying too as their hearts just can't handle that sort of size. Blue was 13 stone and 3 ft 2 at the shoulder but his heart was 'average' sized :( I miss Blue every day and hope one day I will have a dog as wonderful as him again.
