My baby boy Pouncy is sick!!! Idk what it could be....
My poor pouncy seems to be sick! Hes lying around and not acting like himself.I took his temp
it was 103.1 Could he be sick from eating too much? This happened all of a sudden. It is 8pm where I live so
I am trying to avoid an after hours emergency bill. However If I have to take him tonight I will...

Likely bacterial infection... Yes, after hours emergency.
Actually any temp is high to me. Once cats show outward signs of illness they are pretty sick. And the normal range is so large. My baby runs around 100. So 103 is really high for her.
Oh sorry if i am rambling on... I get nervous when cats get lethargic. I lost my favorite chidhood Maine Coon to not acting quick enough.Last edited by candes; 7th December 2011 at 01:36 AM.

I hope Pouncys feeling better soon! If he were my baby, I'd take him in asap as I wouldn't I wouldn't want the little guy to suffer and I wouldn't be able to sleep. I myself hate being sick. Our afterhours only charges a little more than a standard office visit to our regualr vet. Hopefully as Candes said, it's only an infection. Keep us updated!

Although he had a poop, is he constipated? Does his stomach feel hard? How does his stools look? Hard, dry, loose etc..
I would still go to the vet just to make sure he's okay. They can only help him. Please keep us updated.

What was his temperature at that point,if it was still up then the cat needed something, teething can make them uncomfortable & a bit sore but shouldn't make the temp.go up like that it is more the sign of an infection somewhere, cats normal temps are around 101.5,102 to 102.5 some vets might give a bit of ab coverage just in case,103+ there is something going on.Hopefully your own vet will be of more help ,he/she should be able to tell if Pouncy is constipated & give you adv.on what to do,he sounds a really unhappy babe at the moment bless him. When you get him sorted if I was you I would right a letter to the emerg.service & tell them how you felt about the treatment you received from their vet, they are there to help not make you feel it is wasting their time & you certainly paid enough for them to have kept their feelings to themselves, I know if one of mine had a temp.like that then I would certainly have gone to OOH surgery. Fingers crossed for both you & him...x

Well Pouncy and I went to the vet and he said that he has an upper resp infection. He gave him a shot of antibiotics that
stay in his system for 10 tens. I hope my lil boy feels better soon! He looks so sad. My vet was also furious with the way I was
treated at the ER clinic and he told me he would contact them. Thanks for all the concern.
