Question My Maine Coon Rory loves to empty any water source he has access to.

Rory is very much a Maine coon male of three years; very Kitten like and fascintated by water. We can't use a bowl so bought a pet fountain; Rory emptied it quickly with his paw. We put it into an empty litter tray to catch the water and then also had to tilt the fountain backwards to prevent him draining it. He also drinks a lot from the fountain and then manages to pee from inside Zooplus's jumbo litter tray out and flood the tray mats we have down for this eventuality. I wouldn't change him for the World but would likevto know if anyone else has these problems.

One of our girls, Tilly is obsessed with water. She will sit for ages flicking water out of a bowl with her paws.
We have also had to buy the largest ceramic dog bowl we can find for the kitchen as she drags the "normal" sized bowls across the tiled floor untill it falls off the step down into the next room!!
She also lays upside down under the kitchen tap trying to catch the drips before they land in the sink.

My MC Kitten is similar - on days when we water the garden he loves chasing the hose or the watering can, though not sure he would want to get into a whole bath of water.

Hi, if you want to stop this, the best thing on the market is a road refresher bowl which can be found on ebay for about £10 inc postage and quite simply is the best thing on the market today. As a breeder we have used them for a year and they are brilliant at keeping your floor dry

It is a Maine Coon trait, and sometimes giving them moving water, as in a drinking fountain, helps, but still some of my cats dib their paws in it. I have dishes in trays, but, the tray gets full of water, I just have to keep a mop handy. Love 'em ;-))

Both of mine are water fanatics! Poif isn't quite so keen, but she begs me to put on our catit fountain and will just stare at it...if left long enough though you can return to a room flooded with water where she has decided to attack the water. Ffion is the worst though and will be found either in the bath or the kitchen sink calling loudly for the taps to be turned on...day and night!!
