Depends on how old you are and how many years of disappointment in people you've been able to accumulate. :-P

I am also very pleased that every thing has turned out the right way, perhaps we can look forward to seeing photo of new babe now...

I am also alongside Peter on this too, been there, seen it & faced the disappointments.
It is just such a shame that over the last decade or so our breed of cat has become so much popular & along with that the breeders who are in it for a fast buck, when we first started showing Merl there was hardly a MC in sight & now they very often provide the biggest classes,in size as well as numbers !

Funny that MC's are so popular. In my over 40yrs of being a cat person, the only purebred MC's that I've met have been at cat shows. LOL Once I learn the ropes of this forum, I'd love to post pictures.

This is actually a perfect thread for me to respond to. My spotted Teddy Bearz's pattern changed pretty much like a bengels. Look at the change from 13 to 15 weeks. At 13 weeks, he had very close stripes. At 15 weeks, spotted. After that he kept his pattern.

Oh I just noticed this post. You know we went through a mix-up when I chose Teddy bearz. All the kittens looked alike to me, And the breeder thought I was later changing my mind when I said yeah I want the cat in pic 2. But I actually wanted the first cat I was shown. And wasn't changing my mind. Us common folks can't tell them apart as well as the breeders.

Now I wonder if she was trying to push another cat on me. Since Teddy Bearz proved to be a real "loverboy". She said she was gonna keep him if I wanted another cat. You see, she already offered me Teddy, and I said yup, I will take him. But then sent me pics of 2 other cats. One of which had a skittish look on its face. I think that is the one she was pushing on me.

So what I am saying is sometimes, the breeder may decide they like your cat. Cough cough... My Teddy Bearz has proven to be an exceptionally beautiful and tempered cat. I could see it in his face the day I chose him. He was an "ugly duckling" at the time compared to the other kittens. He started getting his spots right around the time she offered to switch. Ah ha!

Love the look of your boy. Once I get him, I'll post pictures of my guy.

Update: We got our kitty. Everything went smoothly with no problems. We got all the papers, toys, care books, and food to start out with. We named him Whiskey. He is learning our habits and we're getting used to his. All I can say is we are happy parents

Can see why you are such happy parents he looks one relaxed handsome kitty,so pleased everything turned out positive for you,luv & cuddles to Whiskey & looking forward to seeing a lot more pictures of him growing up,did bring a tear to my eye because he looks so much like our Merlyn as a babe & now 10kg & a few years under his belt later.....x
