The problem with pictures is all the cats wake up when I get home. And do their sleeping mostly on my husbands shift. Now when I say the other 2 didn't provide enough lovin for Teddy Bearz, it is because he has exceptional needs in the lovin dept. Not that they don't snuggle and kiss. Cleo more so than Nala. Anyways, Teddy and Sasha grow closer every day.

Oh my... I think Teddy Bearz is going through a short spell of asthmatic attacks. Making regular singular choking sounds. Breathing a bit heavy. And hiding under the dining room table all hunched forward. You know all along I thought his allergies were strictly preservatives and corn meal. But the only change to his diet was the addition of 100% chicken kibble. Normally he eats a 50% tuna/%50 chicken kibble without too many problems. Oh wait a minute... Sasha has turkey chicken kibble. Perhaps I should pull up the kitten kibble and see if Teddy improves. That could be the answer. You see he used to adore turkey and suddenly turned his nose up to it many months ago. I wondered if it was because it made him not feel well. Well, I shall see.
But he did make those choking sounds when eating the 100% chicken kibble. Maybe I will pull up both flavors now and see if he gets better.
What if he ends up allergic to chicken? This means I would have to change the entire kibble diet for all my cats. Since BeforeGrain has chicken in every flavor. Sigh.... It would also mean that I was poisening my poor Teddy Bearz on a milder extent with the tuna/chicken kibble.
Anyways, I should be in bed sleeping for my late shift at work. But us mommies always worry. It seems to have slowed down a bit.
Update... His breathing is better, and he is now on top of the table vs under it. Whew! Mom gets to go to bed.Last edited by candes; 31st December 2011 at 02:06 PM.

Welly goes exactly like that when he is getting ready to throw up one of those unmentionable things that seem to pick up lots of funny names here on the forum, sometimes it happens that day sometimes we have to wait a while ...x

Teddy is not a furball type of guy. And never has brought up one ever. When he has an attack, it sounds like a rude male purposely bringing up phlem. A load raspy gasping like throat clearing sound. And he even coughs up mucus into his mouth each time he does it. For some reason, yawning will set it off too. He has been doing this rarely for weeks after his cold. So I blamed it on that. If he is sensitive to a food it will even happen while he is eating it. His personality will even change when his symptoms are bad enough. And will hide under furniture breathing like there is no tomorrow.
Once the food is removed from his diet, you will never hear the sound again. It is allergy. And after his anaphylaxis I will not take it so lightly anymore. I am surprised you aren't familiar with the choking sounds working in a vets office. Go watch some Youtube videos and see what it is like. Being unexperienced at the beginning, I too thought it was furballs. But he never coughed any up. Then it increased and also the head moving deep breathing started. That is when I changed his diet. And it became a rare event. Come to think of it, the food that Sasha is now eating is the last food removed from his diet as a youngster. He improved with previous diet changes. But still had some mild problems. The kitten food being removed made him 100% and it never happened again. So perhaps he has a mild allergy to something in the kitten food also.
I love Teddy so much I would give him the world. And it breaks my heart to lock him up when the others get food that he loves ten times as much as what he gets.

Don't forget I had a very bad asthmatic cat Candes,China,so I am quite used to the sounds of cats suffering from allergies & the problems that can go with it, we too had really rough times, she was allergic to certain flowers & it used to be very hard sometimes because although we could work out & control what was in our house & garden if she went out in the pen at certain times of years obviously the pollen from certain things in others gardens would drift over & we would have bad times with her especially as steroids wouldn't touch her very often to help give relief.
Dont say "never has" with furballs Pansy P brought up her very first one when she was over six years old,a big surprise for us & an even bigger one for her although Welly is the only one who acts strange when they are brewing.
Merlyn will sympathise with Teddy B,he too has most of his meals seperate from the others because of diet, today he is having a treat as he has gone out in the pen with the two bruvs & he is going round the bowls of the other two little does he realise his ration of food has been divided between the three of them so he won't be getting anything he shouldn't by "stealing" the other two will get topped up on their own when they come in.

For the second time in his life, Teddy Bearz has improved 100% after removing Wellness kitten kibble and cans from his diet. He was snitching Sashas this time around. So I have been pulling up any leftovers. Previously as a youngster, he improved about 80% with preservative and corn meal removal and then an additional 20% with the turkey kitten food.
Oh and he itched right above his eye until a large area was raw and super swollen. I put warm compresses on it. And it helped a lot. It is about the size of a half dollar.
His list of allergies:
preservatives or corn
eye antibiotics
rabies shots
possibly turkey
I love this pic. I call it the evil box monster dragging an innocent kitten into his lair.
But actually it is innocent play. Sasha was the instigator this time around.

I really didn't think this was possible. Teddy Bearz has changed. My special boy has become even more special. Everytime he sees me, he stares lovingly into my eyes. The love just radiates from his face. And everytime my face is close to his, he squints his eyes in loving bliss. And he moves his head forward to give me kisses. Teddy Bearz is now a loverboy on steroids. But it is more than being a loverboy. He adores his mom.
I was afraid Sasha would steal him from me. Instead I have a much happier boy. I think he really appretiates what I did for him. They play, groom, and sleep together. Sasha is Teddies little sidekick. He loves being the big brother.
I can never say this enough. Teddy Bearz is unique from other cats. He has a soul.
