Do you teach your MC tricks? Mine can fetch!

    Hey Guys,

Love reading the posts in this forum - and your pictures are stunning.

Anyway, have you found that your Maine Coon responds well to being taught things?

My (admittedly quite persistant) housemate managed to teach my cat to fetch while I was away for work one weekend.

    Here's the video:

    Enjoy!

Yup. My Tequila was taught to shake a paw at 6 months and high 5 at 7 months. You can find him doing both at the following link.

    Tequila and his tricks

These MC's are so intelligent. They learn very quick. Tequila will fetch only on his terms.

So far Pina will come when called (I'm told not all cats will) I've taught her to give her paw and when she wants to be picked up I tell her "reach" and she will stand up on her hind legs and reach up

Samantha not only played fetch with a rattle mouse but also played a game I called mouse ball, she would stand about 3 feet in front of where I was sitting and I would try to toss the rattle mouse past her, she would go right, left and up or down and either snag the mouse with her claws or bat it back at me.
She was incredibly quick when she was young and also an amazing leaper, we had hours of fun playing together, she was more like a Golden Retriever then a cat sometimes.

I'm working on something similar now. She will bat a jingle ball back and forth with me a few times but I'm not certain she really gets it yet.

I have a possible-MC that steals...Started several months ago when I began a second PT job. One day I came home and emptied my pockets and put the contents on a living room table. This included a folded up payroll check. Several days passed when I started to look for the check. I couldn't find it anywhere. Went to work and they said that a new check would be issued, but it would cost me $16.50 for a stop-payment fee. It took them weeks to even start the process. About a week later when I was vaccuuming I found the check behind the sofa. I quickly informed my employer that I found the check to stop the process-which they did.

Several weeks later the same thing happened again-I thought I was losing my mind as did my employer. I never did find that check. Another couple of weeks later I placed my things (from my pockets) on the same table-this included about $18.00 in cash-folded up the same way as the checks. I sat down and watched tv when one of the cats jumped up on the same table scooped up the cash in her mouth and took off. I was able to make a felony stop and recover my money. It was that day that I finally figured out what was happening to my checks.

Our male fetches and comes when called. Both of them can open any cabinet doors and drawers in the kitchen.

Looks like your MC is trying to teach you some tricks to better handle your money or was that his way of earning an allowance?.

Our moggie had a thing for hair accessories. He taught me to put the stuff back in the drawer where it belongs or he'd steal it and hide it. Our MC has taught me that I cannot leave anything out that "he" doesn't think goes in that spot; he taught us to decorate with minimalistic taste.
