Da Bird Rocks!
Had a very busy but wonderful Xmas. Hope yours all was fine as well. The kitties all had a wonderful time also. Lottsa ham, presents, catnip and playtime. Spoiled rotten since both mom and dad have been home for the last 3 days.
Da Bird... I am glad I held out for Xmas so they got something extra special. I have eyed that thing up in the stores for years and it just looked like any other feather bunched on a stick. In fact less feathers than most. But as I was recentlty been told by a good friend, it is a lot better than it looks. My cats were mesmerized by it!
The acrobatics by my little Sasha were amazing! She even did honest to goodness somersaults. Wish I caught that on video. She would flip in the air. And even would fly straight into my other kitties faces. Whoops! And she wants to hog it away from all my other kitties. Anyways, being a baby she didn't know when to stop. Nor could we control her excitement. So we hold back on her a bit. And even gave her time outs in another room.
Cleo, is 17 and could care less most of the time. But did watch sometimes. Hey he had his fun times for many years.
My 11 year old Nala was pretty darn energetic. And was jumping all over the place like a spry kitten.
Ok now the problem... Poor little Teddy Bearz. He is too big. And we tried to keep him centered in our living room away from objects. Or on a soft couch. But he banged himself pretty good a couple of times. Other times Sasha would be too close and he would hold back to keep from hurting her. Maybe I will take him outside with it tomorrow. I have been keeping him in since his cold. Since going out could bring it back of he goes out too soon.
Anyways, I also have some video I shot that I will get together a bit later.

Don't let Teddies size fool ya. He can have as much fun as a kitten if given the room. Everytime he bangs off of something he cools it a bit. And especially if baby Sasha is around. He has never landed on her by accident. Maybe a slight accidental bump though when Da Bird is out. He is a good gentile boy. Oh and all I have to do is hold the feathers in my hand and he turns into a controlled zombie.

Great catch! When Dakota was a wee one (6 months old), he got tangled up in one all by himself. Luckily we were home, as he had gotten the stick caught on a cabinet knob and was literally hanging from it mid-air! He could have met a horrible end had we not been there. Now all stick/string toys are locked up and he only plays with them supervised. It never ceases to amaze me how determined these cats can be when they want something. So glad your babies had a wonderful Christmas, as did ours. Santa was very generous this year.
