HOme Ear mite remedy?
I almost 99% my MC (from the shelter) has ear mites. Without doing a microscope reading I'm not 100% sure. Any home treatments or OTC treatments? Trying to keep her out of VET if possible (she's already been through enough stress).

Well, I once learned a lesson. Many many years ago, my cats were allowed to roam outside. One time I was leaving for vacation in a matter of 2 hours. And saw black in my Cleos ears. And said, oh no, an ear mite infection... Which happen a lot around here in outdoor cats. So I called the vet for some fast drops for ear mites without a visit. He said he could do that, but that could mean our cat could go a week with it, if it was something else. Good point... So he squeezed our kitty in for a quick look. It was a fungal infection.

I agree with Candes on this don't just assume it is ear mites & if it is you would most probaly need something stronger than Thornits to kill them anyway they are quite powerful little b*****s & they are easily passed onto any other animals in the household too. It would not be an over stressful vet visit for her & if she has had a bad experience with them might just help her by this one being quite straightforward,if it is an infection rather than mites the longer you leave it the worse it will get & then could end up being a very painful visit....

What was funny is that it was Cleos first and last fungal infection. Of course he had to throw us for a loop and prove us wrong on the ear mite issue. And I got an I told ya so from the vet.
At least fungal infections go away lickidly split vs ear mites. That was a bonus.
Talk about stress... We got some out of control fleas this year. It was likely the worst year for fleas in over 2 decades. Before I resorted to the flea meds I despise, the stress took a toll on Teddy. I really should not have tried to tackle such a nasty year naturally. I can't remember all the details, but he ended up with a herpes outbreak, worsening gingivits and was not a happy cat. Drooling profusely all over the place. And runny oozing eyes. A pitiful sight. So the stress of a nasty medical condition (fleas) can take its toll also.
