A fantastic food is Feline Fayre (black pouches/tins) available from Morrissons and Asdas. Very high meat content and free of all rubbish, plus it is a complete diet.

My lot have it alongside their raw and they love it.

Can I just ask why she didn't have a good start in life?

I'd like to feed my boy rc maine coon but having trouble getting hold of it.
So I feed a mix of Purina kitten biscuits and Fancy Feast kitten biscuits, and mix in some Purina hairball biscuits too and also some whiskas biscuits... either kitten, or an adult one as we have a moggie that likes the biscuits too..
they also get a pouch of wet food between our tonk kitten and my boy and at night they get some raw meat (which is a mix of beef, lamb and kangaroo) though yesterday I picked up some fish I'm going to try them on too...

thank you all for your help.
the reason she didnt have a good start in life is down to her breeder i was told she was old enough to leave her mum etc etc unfortunately i didnt get to see her untill she was delivered (yes extremely silly i know) when she arrived it was obvious she was no where near the age to leave mum but the poor wee thing had been stuck in a car for hours and even been on a ferry to get to me!!!! so i couldnt say no i wont have her you will have to take her back she didnt even know how to lap her drink never mind eat food but after time and patience shes now eating and drinking very well and the poor wee thing also had awful ear mites i asked the breeder in a telephone convo about worming, flea treatment etc etc and was told "my cats are clean and i do not poison them with treating them for things!!!!" so a trip to the vets ear drops etc etc and having her age confirmed at about 6 weeks when i bought her im happy to say she is now a very healthy happy if mischevious little(but growing fast) lady.

Hi there. Breeders like that make me so angry, poor little mite. 6 weeks is about half the age (minimum) that she should have left her mum. They aren't socially adjusted either. Pleased she found you, hopefully things will get better for her !. Breeders like this should be named and shamed

That's dreadful. That sounds more like a kitten farm than a breeder. I wonder how the breeding queen is being treated, and how many she has. And that's a tired old excuse for not bothering with flea/worm treatments. I hope she's not a registered breeder with any MC clubs. She's giving all breeders a bad name. I totally agree with Harrymc, she should be named and shamed. Still, that is one lucky kitten, to be with you!!

    What to feed...

Hi Mandiecoon,my daughter has moved with her two MC's up to the Shropshire/Powys border, perhaps they are set to become the breed in that area.
Shame about your kitten bless it,always makes me want to cry when I hear about things like that, baby is safe with you but as Howlinbob said what about mum, makes you think that the breeder most probaly gets rid of the babies & then mates mum straight away....
