Good wet food that doesn't stink?
This may be a daft thread or there may already be one on this subject but I would like to introduce some wet food into Bullets diet to add a bit of variety to his diet but here's the thing...
His litter tray has to be in the living room at the moment and his poos aren't really that smelly, I'm worried adding wet food will make it smell more as my Mum has a little moggy kitten the same age as him and he STINKS when he poos. The only difference between the 2 that I can see is my Mums cat is on wet food.
So, are there any wet foods that are especially good at keeping the stink away?

With mine I have found the richer the food the more they stink & a lot more prone to the runny botty syndrome hence I stick with good old Felix in jelly with better ones on special occasions, look in the diet & nutrition section on here, lots of threads about food there, might help....x

I found that the Bozita tetra packs made my boys runny and stank hugely. Most of the new tins I am trying are much much better. Grau, Smilla, Animonda Carny (?), Smuszy (?) etc. all OK.

Define stink... Obviously you are talking about the human definition.
If you go to the more expensive cat foods, they will smell quite yummy. All of Teddies food smells good enough for a human to eat. The tuna in Avoderm looks and smells better than what we humans get. And the Natural Balance pouches smell like dinner off my plate. In fact they call them platefulls.
But I recall my vet said that kittens should get dedicated kitten food. And I think she is right. Every cat that I gave dedicated kitten food to realized their maximum size potential. My moggie Cleo, is likely larger than many MC here. And my MC Teddy Bearz... He is near the size of a medium dog. The problem is that I can no longer endorse Teddies kitten food manufacturer. Since they had a manufacturing issue at menu foods. I personally refuse to buy anything made at menu foods.
Oh gosh, I just woke up after falling asleep by accident on the floor. And was posting before heading back to bed. Yawn... You are talking poo here.
Once again the better foods minimize cat pan oder.
Just wait, Elismom will see this post shortly.... The 2 of us are very picky about what we feed our cats. And only utilize foods that have been researched by our selves. We prefer foods that are human grade. Contain no fillers or artificial preservatives. And are not made at the major cat food canneries.Last edited by candes; 1st July 2011 at 12:19 PM.

I'm just hoping to get him onto a good quality food that doesn't totally reek coming out the other end. lol! With the litter tray being in my liing room I wouldn't like visitors to start being sick when he poos. LOL! Of course it must be the best for my fur baby! I'm thinking steamed chicken etc. too. I would like to aviod runny poos too if possible.
Thanks for all the advice! I have been looking through all the threads and have a good idea of good quality foods, just wondered which one helped keep smell to a minimum.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm not sure if I'll get those big hooded litter trays here but I'll have a look! Peter I'm definitely doing the litter tray cupboard thing, don't have an IKEA here but I'm sure any unit will do. lol

We have a jumbo litter tray from Zooplus for Mufasa, it is very big, hooded, swing door and charcoal filter. It does cut down the smell because when you open the door there's a definite change in air freshness lol! I would think that they deliver to Scotland:

I've been trying Buddy on Encore this week and there's very little smell as it leaves him. Its 75% meat or fish and 25% brown rice. Also choose your litter carefully as some control odour better. Have you given any thought to toilet training so you won't need a litterbox at all.
