Scratching - post neutering...
Hi all
One thing it would be great to have your opinions on...
We had Lucius neutered last week, and he was great, taking it all in his stride. However, since then we have noticed he is scratching more - ALOT more! Every morning he is waking us up now scratching the carpet to pieces, despite having a cat tree and a scratch mat. We put things in the way, but he just moves along to the next bit of carpet!
This is definitely behaviour which has worsened in the last week. We use a click system so when he is a bit naughty we click and he stops, but this week, in the bedroom, in the mornings, he just keeps going!
Any ideas? Is there a natural link with him being neutered??
Thanks

I don't have any big problems with that. But we don't have any carpet around the house, so the cats can't use that). Willow used to try and put his nails in the wallpaper, but we managed to make him stop do that. At this moment, we have 5 cats and also 5 cat trees, and luckily they usually use the trees for their nails. Although I noticed that Esme every now and then puts her nails into one of our sofas... I'll have to try and teach her that she can't do that anymore, I guess... But hey, they wouldn't be kitties if they didn't try to be naughty. ;)
